About the Therapies

Reflexology: Initially developed as Zone therapy by Dr William Fitzgerald, this was later re-developed by Eunice Ingham to the therapy of Reflexology that we know today. It is based on the principle that the whole body is mapped out in a series of specific areas and zones in the feet called reflexes. The reflexes are stimulated using the hands, thumbs and fingers, applying gentle pressure to the reflexes in sequence. This breaks up any blockages preventing energy to flow freely thoughout the body, it stimulates the body's own natural healing mechanism, and offers effective relaxation, thereby returning the body to a peaceful state of homeostasis - balance. As the pressure applied is gentle but firm, even those with a ticklish disposition can enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.

Reiki: 'Remembered' by Dr Mikao Usui following his quest to find the original and ancient methods of healing, Dr Usui developed the art of Reiki in Japan, and following his death, his successor continued his work, creating Reiki Masters to pass on the learning and attunements. From there, Reiki spread throughout the world, predominantly due to the work of Madame Takate of Hawaii. However, the original methods and spiritual practice of Dr Usui are still used and taught in Japan. Reiki can be given in person or can be sent remotely, so a a therapy session I connect with you via video link (WhatsApp or Messenger.) Reiki (pronounce 'Ray Key') is a method of channelling the Universal Life force energy, that exists all around us, to ourselves or to others. Reiki floods our body with the most wonderful high frequency vibration of positive life force energy and unconditional love, thereby forcing out any negativity. Under such positive conditions, our own personal frequency signiture cannot help but be raised to that of the Universal Life force energy. A course of four treatments is best to feel the benefits of reiki, though this is not mandatory. Likewise with Reflexology, Reiki balances the body's energies and stimulates our body's natural own healing mechanism.

Kinesiology: Inially with its roots in Chiropractice, Dr George Goodheart developed his findings into Applied Kinesiology, which was then only taught to the medical profession and those licensed to diagnose and prescribe. John Thie DC, so taken with the methods and successes of Kinesiology felt it was too important to be restricted, and so he developed Touch for Health which he made available to the general populous. It is from Touch for Health that the majority of the 'kinesiology's' that exist today were based upon and have evolved from.

Kinesiology uses simple muscle testing as a way to interact with the subconscious of the human body, identifying imbalances, emotional or mental conflicts within, and in correcting these through rubbing points on the body, or holding points on the head, tapping points, saying affirmations, using colour, nutrition, flower essences, to name just a few of the many corrections, it can return the body to its natural state of homeostasis. Using goal setting and reprogramming methods, it can help a person to overcome fears and phobias, face uncomfortable events such as dental appointments, job interviews, examinations, it can help one to move forward from past events or trauma, it can assist in letting go and releasing aspects of ourself which no longer serves us. It is perfect for personal development goals.

Tarot and Oracle Cards: I have been reading cards for over 30 years, initially starting with playing cards and a fortune telling book, I eventually graduated to Intuitive cards - and then started using Tarot and Oracle cards. I have aquired quite a collection over the decades, and I am still a 'sucker' for a new age shop and a display of such cards, and whenever on holiday or somewhere new, it is usually my mission to find a new set to add to my collection. For a long time these cards became my 'friends' who I would turn to for clarity and guidance in times of need or crisis. As a form of divination, the cards are a way to connect with our higher self, with the Universal energy, or with what we may personify as our Divine Spirit (according to our personal faith/religion). Through the laying of cards in a spread, they will guide and provide what it is that is needed to be known for us to find clarity or move forward in some way. A single layer of cards can provide answers, but a layered spread will provide more depth and different perspectives.

Readings can be given in person, or remotely via video connection (WhatsApp or Messenger).

Bach Flower Essences: Flower Essences are a form of vibrational medicine whose signature frequency is the same as the Universal Life Force energy that exists all around us and from which we evolved/were created, according to your belief system. They have existed in different varieties for thousands of years and from different countries, such as Australia, Egypt, India, Europe and South America. The most noteable being from when the Aboriginal Australians used flowers to heal mind and body. Vibrational medicine works by raising the vibrational frequency of those partaking of it. All living and inanimate things have their own signature frequency. The frequency of the solid inanimate objects is a lot slower than the frequency of living things. The frequency of our etheric bodies is much faster than that of our physical body. When we are happy and content, feel intune with our true self, our soul, our personal frequency is similar to that of the Universe. We feel 'connected'. When we feel negative, troubled, fearful, uncertain, to name just a few states, our personal frequency slows and so can be further slowed by general toxicity within our environment, be it the food we eat, people around us, pollution in the air. A negative state make us more supsceptible to more negativity. Likewise a positive state attracts more positivity to us. Dr Edward Bach developed the Bach Flower Essences in the 1930's after many years work as Doctor and Bacteriologist, Homeopath and following his own ill health and terminal prognosis. He was so determined to complete his work with flower essences for he believed that the answers to our ill health came from within, and it was the soul of the individual that need healing rather than the physical symptoms they presented with. Though given only a few months to live, Dr Bach surpassed the expectations of his prognosis by many years, was able to complete his work on creating the 38 Flower Essences that we use today. They work by flooding the body with positive vibrational energy, thereby lifting our own personal vibrational frequency to a more postive state.

I have personally used these remedies for 30 years, and can vouch for their gentleness in turning a negative emotion around so that it is supassed by a more positive and optimistic outlook. I have experienced relief from depression, anxiety, grief, and loss of direction, and so it is with pleasure that I am now able to offer these remedies to you.

Sound Therapy: Sound Therapy has existed for thousands of years in different forms, and has been used by many cultures and tribes of old as a way to meditate, to heal, to induce a specific vibe. Think of modern music today, or through your own lifetime, some genres will ‘fire you up’ to be active, support you whilst running or exercising, some make you want to dance, some make you just want to chill out and be still, others can relax you and induce sleep, whilst there may be another song or piece of music that will enable/induce you to have a good cry (always better out than stored up.) Even before instruments or music existed, listening to natures music, waves crashing on seashore, birds singing, rustle of leaves in the breeze, a waterfall, a rippling brook, the rain on the window, wind rushing around the outside of the house, even thunder, these may all provide a measure of peace to our soul. Noise, sound, music, they all have their own vibrational frequency, and the right kind of frequency helps us to connect with the Universal Life force and frequency that exists all around us. If our personal frequency is low, negative, then a sound bath can raise it up, resulting in us feeling more relaxed and positive. Likewise, if our frequency is too high, and perhaps we need a little more grounding, then a sound bath will help to balance and calm us.

The Frequency of sound can be seen in the ripples that appear when introduced to water or sand, suggesting that its vibrational frequency has a physical effect on matter. All living and non-living things are ‘matter’ and our human bodies are made up of 60% water, and the brain nearer 80%. It therefore follows that sound therapy can have an effect on our physical body. Therefore, as we receive a sound bath, we are being ‘balanced’ energetically through its unique vibrational frequency.

This is a very relaxing treatment and can be received as a small group (max 5) at my home or as a 121 session. In time I hope to be able to offer larger group sessions, once a suitable venue is found.

Intuitive Healing: This healing, though similar to Reiki in that it may include channelling of energy to the body, I have found that my use of it tends to start with connecting with the client to feel intuitively what is the best form of therapy for them, and it may then go off at a tangent and include any aspect of the above therapies, along with working with the Chakras, etheric bodies, colour, pendulum, and/or healing wand. I discuss with the client what I am finding and doing as the session progresses. It is a good therapy to book if you know you need something holistic, but are not sure what you want or need. The aim is always that you feel better leaving than you did when you arrived.
